Assessment and Intervention

After youth are arrested and determined that they pose no threat to public safety, they are brought to Youth Emergency Services where they meet with an intake crisis counselor at the Reception Center for an immediate assessment. This includes a solution-focused crisis intervention meeting with the youth's family to appropriately address the urgency of the family situation. The crisis counselor, youth and family use this time to determine what community service referrals might be needed to reduce the likelihood of a re-offense.
