Eligibility for IFPS
Families are eligible to participate in IFPS if:
- They are currently receiving services from the referring agency (one of four agencies: MCPS, Child Welfare, DJS, or Child/Adolescent Mental Health)
- The family meets the agency’s definition for imminent risk of out-of-home placement OR at least four risk factors are identified on the referral form from a referring agency that has no standardized “risk” classification tool.
- The referring agency provides the required documentation such as evaluations, assessments, discharge plans, court orders, etc.
- The family is aware that the referral is being made and is willing to participate in the process
- The child is residing in the home at the time of the referral, or plans to be returned home within 48 hours of the referral.
