Montgomery County - Eligibility for IFPS

Families are eligible to participate in IFPS if:

  1. They are currently receiving services from the referring agency (one of four agencies: MCPS, Child Welfare, DJS, or Child/Adolescent Mental Health)
  2. The family meets the agency’s definition for imminent risk of out-of-home placement OR at least four risk factors are identified on the referral form from a referring agency that has no standardized “risk” classification tool.
  3. The referring agency provides the required documentation such as evaluations, assessments, discharge plans, court orders, etc.
  4. The family is aware that the referral is being made and is willing to participate in the process
  5. The child is residing in the home at the time of the referral, or plans to be returned home within 48 hours of the referral.
