Choices is able to provide individualized support to the people it serves because of its unique funding possibilities. Our care management programs use braided and blended funding strategies so that child and family teams have access to a broad array of services and supports
Systems of care support programs are built on performance based contracts. Most of these programs are in their 2nd or 3rd contract renewal, showing positive results and sustainability.
Choices receives more than 90% of its revenues through performance contracts with various government entities. The remaining revenue is received through grant funding.
Dawn Project Funding Model Recognized
Since 1995, the Health Care Reform Tracking Project has been tracking publicly-financed managed care initiatives and their impact on children with mental health and substance abuse disorders and their families.
Series #1: Managed Care Design & Financing describes seven managed care design and financing approaches that were identified through the HCRTP as incorporating features that support effective service delivery. The Dawn Project’s innovative funding model is included on page 32 of this report, which is also available on the University of South Florida’s Web site.
