Knute Rotto, MSW - Chief Executive Officer

Not only was he the first employee of Choices, he’s probably the tallest. In March 1997 Choices’ Board of Directors hired Knute to create and implement the Dawn Project in Indianapolis. Within 24 months he developed Choices into an $8 million nonprofit agency. Today, Knute is a nationally recognized leader in developing community-based programs that serve youth facing serious emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. As CEO of Choices, Knute plays a large role in developing new business and is an industry thought- leader on how child serving agencies, governmental systems and schools can collaborate to serve youth with high needs. Before moving to Indianapolis Knute was the Director of Mental Health Services at Cedars Youth Services in Lincoln, Nebraska. Knute has also worked in residential facilities and started his career as a child protection worker.
