Our Role in the Community
Choices, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Choices was originally incorporated as Indiana Behavioral Health Choices, but in 2002 we changed our name and later that year we opened our first subsidiary, Hamilton Choices, LLC, in Cincinnati Ohio.
Choices was formed by a cross-system effort in Marion County, Indiana to manage the Dawn Project. Choices was designed to be the private nonprofit entity that could blend funding to serve youth involved in two or more systems (child welfare, juvenile justice, special education and mental health). This foreword thinking has allowed Choices to expand this blended-funding model into other communities.
Over the past decade, we have received local and national recognition for our innovative practice and clinical outcomes.
